Departing from Tokyo Station to Nagano, take the Hokuriku Shinkansen (1.5 hours) - the ASAMA, KAGAYAKI, or HAKUTAKA Shinkansen trains all go to Nagano, Hakutaka being the fastest. Reserved seat tickets are recommended during the busy winter season. For train schedules Jorudan Planner

Scheduled buses operate regularly between Nagano station (EAST EXIT) and Hakuba (approximately 1 hour) – please see the Alpico Bus schedule. There is a Alpico bus ticket machine inside the Shinkansen office. The cost is about JPY 3,500 per person one way.  You can also pay the driver directly in cash or tap by credit card.

There is also one direct limited express train - Azusa No.5 train service from Shinjuku Tokyo to Hakuba Train Station departing Shinjuku at 8am and arriving in Hakuba at 11.41am.
